Lying Love

My eyes hold the trusting gaze of yours.
You search for an emotion that has no existence in me.
You deserve to be loved, to have this touch mean something,
But the truth is, in my heart there is no you.
I feel nothing when I see you.
You say your heart flutters for me, pounds through your chest.
Mine lays still.
You say the smell of me makes you smile.

Cold Silk

It had been three days sine Alec had been fired. Three days since him and his wife Lindsey had spoken. The fight that brought about this fast for words had started as any other daily fight. However when Alec carelessly blurted out that he had been laid off, Lindsey changed.

Just to see you smile

Forgive me, please?
Will you, I’ll beg.
Your eyes avoiding mine stings.
Yet still not as much as the burn,
Of when they occasionally meet mine.
Your pupils, blackened with disdain.
Your lips screaming disgust,
Without moving at all.
I yearn for the air, thick with anger,
To be cut, one smooth motion.
Broken by forgiveness.
Forgive me, please?
Will you, I’ll beg.

Winters Eve

A small leaf that was once a shade of green
Floats slowly downward into a pile of its yellow fellows.
The sun descends into the horizon.
And cold comes out to play.
Lightly frosting everything with shards of crystal.
Freezing the now naked twigs and the roots from which they sprang.
The pale gray light of the suns brother moon,
Reflects off of the glitter falling from the heavens,
