Pause.
Submitted by righton on October 22, 2008 - 20:00.Sneakers slap cold pavement as cars rumble, spitting gasoline. Chatter slips from lips seeping sound into cell phones. Store doors snap shut as radios blare. Motorcycles click to ignition. Salvia soaked mouths furiously chomp mint gum. Sirens ring attracting everyone’s stare. Lone musicians pounds drums, their rough callused hands scraping the fine skin. Newly weds smooch smacking red lips. Girl’s hums quietly and touch hands in a game of Mary-Mack. Basketballs thump blacktop and bounce off a rusted blackboard. Old men bump elbows on parking meters. Squirrels get squashed by the thick tire of a Jeep as their bones crack, splicing inside. Fists punch steering wheels as horns beep. A paintbrush’s fine bristles coat color onto an old building. A plane roars. A dog barks. Cars slam. Over and over again it’s the sounds of life. So, just stop and listen…

Painting White Rainbows
Fiery cherry spatters onto
Carroty orange that mixes
Spilling pink
Onto yellow lime kiwi
Chocolate brown splashes onto paper
Inviting a raspberry red filling
Green dots submerge from brush
Like an emerald grass
Coated in a streak of trickling rouge
From a ripe tomato squished by
Black converse blemished by blueberries
Lemonade sun shines like butter coating warmth on the
World and the lollipop ball that forever is in air
And pale hands
Forever in motion of paused release
The brush swivels a jade vine creeping
Up a lavender home dripping with
Colorless rain slipping from whitish blue clouds
A finger paints the black nose of a
Golden puppy in mid splash of a muddy puddle
In the depths of coffee colored soil
The brush lines a olive moldy M
Followed by a archaic A
And a squiggling S, painting like wiggling worms
Next a timid T
And a erratic E
And a ruthless R
Ending with perfect P-I-E-C-E
The brush twirls in water leaking color onto

Ski Days
Submitted by righton on May 11, 2008 - 13:26.Swiftly sliding on sweet winter ice
Your
Frosty toes icing in wintry boots
Your
Gloved hands quivering,
Wind howling
Lifts swinging silently
Your
Feet dangling
Your
Bottom bitter with a cold-chair frostbite
Your
Ears red, squished and cold
Your
Head numb against the beating breeze
Your
Wishing you were
Sinking slowly beneath powder’s freshest delight and
Watching snowfall plummet from a clear blue sky
Now you’re sunken back in the cold chair,
Day dreaming
But why?
You are here
Snowy slopes surrounding you
Icy cold crisp air seeping, stingingly through that hole in your goggle
Green wintered trees towering
A mound of snow is waiting for you
Dig in

Fighting Fire
Submitted by righton on May 10, 2008 - 14:54.Tears pour slipping slobbery to the floor
More and more
Fiery cheeks burn rouge heating your face
Sobs flow endlessly as they pace
Though the smoldering ashes
Of antagonism and grief
Fighting fire escaping the memory
With no water to heal the wound
That burns in your heart like a dying flame
Night after night

The Bloodcurdling Bite
Submitted by righton on May 8, 2008 - 19:02.Her teeth flash white in the glimmer of light
Falling from her shoulders,
Red hair smolders
Sizzling like fire
You stare into her eyes that never tire
Leaving an icy blue shock imprinted onto yours
Blood pours
Seeping through her crimson lips, onto the floor she’s ravenous for more
Beauty stamps her face with a memorizing glow
Fingering your flesh
Meshing your blood
All into one
Seeping through the window pane the sun,
Sunken low into the depths of the night
Her face white
She crawls her nails up and down your neck
Slowly pursing her lips to a peck
You are trapped, under sheets like shackles locking you in place
Your mind paces
She grins unfolding her lips from a thin line
Sniffing your blood like wine
Twenty-two sharp fangs plow into your skin
Venom spurts releasing into your veins
Throbbing blood numbs your mind sinking you back
With a tumbling whack
The vampire sucks tasting away, bloodcurdling screams slip from your lips
The juicy red blood rejuvenates the monster with every sip
Her eyes grow vibrant as she releases savoring the freshness
Leaving the house
As quiet as a mouse
You awake, face a pallid scare
You pull the sheets tearing a pair
Of you
Brushing the scar sliding down you neck your eyes grow wide
Humans to the side
The want lingers like addiction growing inside bigger
And bigger
You leap from the window
Falling gracefully to the ground
Music sounds
Drawing you near
The sent is strong flaring your nostrils wide
You are not you
As you go for the kill
Night after night
Giving others that same chilling freight

Do Something
Submitted by righton on April 17, 2008 - 16:34.This is the end all be all
How is it watching the fall?
It’s almost done
So who has won?
It’s planet Earth that lives on and on
Say goodbye or
Hang up the car keys
On and on eternity is coming to a finish
Why don’t you do something?
The world is waiting
Oil is spilling
Killing the animals
Ignorant people you are
Lie to yourself its not really here
Like science isn’t real
Our people are dieing don’t you realize?
Up and up the gases go
Ruining our home
Planet Earth
Love your family enough to save it?
Are you ready to change it?
Now is the time to turn out the lights
Experience the fight
Turn it around and make a world of a difference
