Blanket

apples's picture

I'll never forget the day
That he visited me
Everyone said that he was crazy
That everything he said
Was nothing but crazy-talk
And that's what I thought too
Until I actually listened
To what he had to say

"Truth is like a blanket
That is just too small.
You can try and try
To cover yourself completely
But it'll never work
You'll only be able
To cover your face,
And eventually you'll
Lose yourself to that blanket.
Constantly trying to
Cover yourself from the world
In the tiny blanket of truth."

These words will always
Stay with me
Wherever I go
Because he has
Opened my eyes
To what this world
Is truely about
Lies, lies, lies
Nothing but lies

April Showers Bring May Flowers
