The YWP seeks entries from students throughout Vermont and the Lebanon, N.H., area each week. Selections for publication are made by student judges under the guidance of YWP Content Editor, Lee McIsaac. All newspaper selections, plus Web extras, will be published on this Web site every Tuesday. Click on word for guidelines and instructions.

The Newspaper Partners:

The Burlington Free Press, a 48,000 daily circulation newspaper serving northern Vermont, publishes on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Living section, as well as Sundays in the Franklin County section and on Thursdays in the separate weekly editions in Colchester, Williston, Essex and South Burlington.

These papers publish on Tuesdays:

The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, a 10,500 daily circulation newspaper serving the capital area.

The Rutland Herald, a 22,000 daily circulation newspaper serving central Vermont.

The Brattleboro Reformer, a 10,000+ daily circulation newspaper serving south eastern Vermont.

Horsegirl....

To submit work for consideration for the YWP Newspaper Series your best bet is to copy the story in your blog, create an "ENTRY" and paste your story in the body of the entry.

It's a little cumbersome (and for more info, go to PUBLISH>>Submit Writing in the menu above) and we are going to make it easier next year. But there is a little method to our madness...."blogs" are intended to be "notebooks" or places to share writing, make revisions, get feedback, etc. and an "entry" is supposed to be more polished work that is considered for external publication and may also get feedback from college mentors.

I was just wondering when the "Green" prompts are going to be published......in the indexed list of prompts for 2008 it says the extended deadline but not the publication date.

We'll decide this week on the publication date. It is also the same week as the farming prompt....
