Wicked!!
Wicked is an AMAZING musical. I also thought that the Legally Blonde musical was pretty good. (They show it on MTV sometimes.)
I know, isn't Wicked
I know, isn't Wicked AWESOME?? (I submitted this poll.) I saw it at the Boston Opera House last October. It was BRILLIANT.
and my friends are getting impatient with me but it's worth it :)
What's your favorite song from it? Mine is No One Mourns the Wicked
I'm bummed that they cut Wicked Witch of the East from the cast album
Have you read the book? The book is brilliant, too.
Wicked.
Actually, I've never seen it.
But I've done everything else it is possible to do to get to know the musical!
(Thank you, NonSequitur!)
Very good. That was the
Very good. That was the correct answer. lol
Wicked
I actually think my favorite is Guys and Dolls, but I voted for Wicked cause that's the only one I've seen except for Hairspray, which we saw at a drive in but we were in like the last row of cars, so it didn't really have great effect or anything. And actually I saw Wicked when I was like ten, but it was on Broadway so it was much more exciting than Hairspray was.
wow I've never heard of a
wow
I've never heard of a live drive-in theater
only movies
no.... but that would be cool
well it was the movie, which some people think doesn't count, but i do.
I'd need to see Wicked first
I'd need to see Wicked first before I really make up my mind, and that's simply because that book was probably one of the best books I've ever read in my life, which is saying something considering the amount of books I've read.
Yes!! A fellow Wicked
Yes!! A fellow Wicked fan!
That is my favorite book of all time. I've read it seven times.
We should start a sub-blog on YWP just for Wicked fans
Because we're just cool like that...
(no offense, greenie)
What was your favorite of the five sections?
Woah, no way! The book was a
Woah, no way! The book was a horrendous slight to literary genius everywhere. I refuse to allow you say you loved it without providing generous backup. The play, on the other hand, was pure concentrated brilliance.
...I disagree.
...I disagree.
I must say I liked the play
I must say I liked the play more than the book, but to be honest there are a lot of things worse than that play and very few better.
Your judgement is obviously
Your judgement is obviously flawed by too many hours reading muddy waters of words created by a writer who doesn't understand the difference between "its" and "it's".
(Okay, that might have been a bit harsh, but I still stand by my opinion.)
Meh. I thought it was more
Meh. I thought it was more funny than "harsh".
Nevertheless, I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's certain, one-hundred percent!
Wait...I'm not an elephant...
crap.
It could be arranged. And
It could be arranged. And how's that Horton Hears a Who working for you?
(Did you know that I had an 8th grade teacher who made us write a BLOODY BOOK REPORT on that book?!)
Wex
Wexelblat? (Wexelblatt? Wixelblat?)
Wexelblatt?
Wexelblatt?
I don't know. I only had her
I
don't
know.
I only had her for six weeks. And, 'sides, we referred to her as Mrs. Wex or the Queen of Something-or-other.
Ah yes, Queen of All That Is
Ah yes, Queen of All That Is Bad and Evil.
Honestly? That's...wow. At
Honestly? That's...wow.
At least it'd be better than writing one on "Catcher in the Rye".
Actually, I had fun doing that. It was at the time when I disliked the book immensely, and thus went on this huge rant about what an idiot Holden Caulfield was.
It was severely entertaining.
It's quite enjoyable to find loopholes in assignments...
:)
A bit harsh, Greenie? Be
A bit harsh, Greenie? Be nice! And please, that's why we have editors.
Hmmm... at least I haven't
Hmmm... at least I haven't attacked Zoom's writing yet. Ah well, best be off before I insult everyone on here. (I do recommend that you try going on an insult trip sometime. Very refreshing to just reel them off. I offer myself as a scapegoat.)
Before I go, I must put in a good word for Phantom of the Opera. Brilliant play, starts off by scaring the crap out of you. Nearly got hit in the head with a flying chandelier.
I do go on insult trips on
I do go on insult trips on internet forums (not here, though), mainly whilst debating. It's extremely entertaining.
Tee hee. I once lost a
Tee hee. I once lost a debate round for calling the other team's intelligence into question every chance I got ("Last time I looked, Isreal was still on the map").
Funny, I can picture that
Funny, I can picture that quite clearly.
Ha Ha!!! (maniacal laughter!)
I am applying my newly learned reply skills.
That's kind of the reason I
That's kind of the reason I prefer debating online, because it's got an unlimited amount of time and there are essentially no rules.
There was this one guy who started a thread saying that "cigarettes should be banned" and one of his chief arguments was that they're advertising to children through Disney movies. He cited "101 Dalmatians" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" as examples, as they have characters who smoke. He believes it's some sort of huge conspiracy. I replied with this:
"There's no conspiracy here, only paranoid or stupid people believing that there is due to coincidences that they haven't researched fully to actually provide an accurate picture of anything."
it was fun.
I applaud you. I really
I applaud you. I really do.
And now I go off to clean the bunnies' cage. Bye, all.
Debates are great
but instead of lots of rules, why don't people just get bucketfulls of muffins to throw and megaphones and go for it?
That would be a REAL debate!
That would be awesome, and
That would be awesome, and so much better than real debate. Actual debating is not really that fun. You have to be respectful to your opponents.
RESPECT?!?!?!
yeah, ok.
But muffins are better.
Are you entirely sure you
Are you entirely sure you want to offer that, Greenie? You've just given me an excuse to stockpile every Shakespearean insult I know and hurl them at you all at once on Monday morning.
SHAKESPEARE IS AWESOME!!!
Shakespearian insults are great!
Take me at thy will, thou
Take me at thy will, thou murbled pile of castrated pig guts.
And Monday is DoS. You'll
And Monday is DoS. You'll have to write them at me.
Darnit! You're right. I
Darnit! You're right. I shake my metaphoric fist at you.
And with a metaphoric
And with a metaphoric flourish, I'm off!
Actually, can I call you for a moment?
Aye. Call away, flourishing
Aye. Call away, flourishing one.
