Grammie’s Ring

Ferrisburgh Central School, Grade 3

My Grammie has a purple ring
A lovely ring
My Grammie has a ring
With a blue birthstone
That we share
We went to see her
In the hospital
She looked up at me
And asked in a soft voice
A weak voice
If I wanted her ring
I said, “No”
Then she said,
“I’ll save this ring for you”
Then I gave her a hug
And kiss
And we left the hospital
And dad said,
“She wanted you
To have that ring
So you’ll remember her
Forever.”
