14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.

Rain

The Rain

By Scott Messer
Benson Village School, Grade 7

It comes from the sky,
Sometimes frozen, sometimes not.
Softly pattering on the leaves and ground,
Making pretty ringing sounds.
It floods rivers and ditches,
Making potholes in the road.
Giving life to all things,
Hidden beneath the clouds.
Animals drink from rivers,
And people use underground springs.
We call it many names,
But our favorite one is rain.
