If you do, please say what
If you do, please say what kind.
For me, musicals and
For me, musicals and electronica are the most conducive to my creative juices.
once in a while I'll put on
once in a while I'll put on the Vivaldi or Dvoak or Bartok something, but normally i want to write when it's quiet.
VIVALDI IS THE BEST EVER!
VIVALDI IS THE BEST EVER!
You and Obscure will get
You and Obscure will get along quite well, then...

About your signature: What exactly does it mean? Like, how is the lion masochistic? I thought it'd be the lamb.
:]

Ahh...I have not read the books. (Please don't hurt me. lol) I'm not really crazy about fantasy. But since so many people have recommended them to me now, I might just read them.
You're right, sometimes
You're right, sometimes quiet is better. But sometimes I need a beat in my ears to bang my ideas into cadence.
Like, right now I'm
Like, right now I'm listening to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack.
I LOVE musicals.
hehe, i like those too. but
hehe, i like those too. but mostly classical.
my radio does this creepy thing, where it starts to play whatever CD happens to be in it at midnight, and once i left a Beatles CD in there...
Do you have any idea how scary love me do can be when it wakes you up at midnight?
ooh...creepy. that happened
ooh...creepy.
that happened to me one time. but it was Jewel, not the Beatles.
I walked in and it started playing. I ran downstairs screaming.
and classical is awesome, too
hehe, what's your favorite?
hehe, what's your favorite? or, are you not that nerdy ;) i use nerdy in a good way, just to let you know!
i personally am a huge fan of holst's planets and pretty much anything by dvorak!
I love Tchaikovsky. And
I love Tchaikovsky. And Mozart. Ever seen "Amadeus"? That is a brilliant movie.
I am extremely nerdy.
And I've actually never heard Dvorak, but I'll look him up.
no, i want to though! my dad
no, i want to though! my dad says it's all fiction... but if it's that good...
yes, you must look up dvorak... his famous is the new world symphony and it rocks! :) :)
Well, it is fiction, but
Well, it is fiction, but it's directed really well and I LOVE the character Salieri. He narrates the movie from a mental institution.
I saw it only once, but now every time my family wants to rent a movie, I always want either "Amadeus" or "Sweeney Todd".
I will definitely look up Dvorak now...I like his work just by the title!!
Yes! do it! so now,
Yes! do it!
so now, tomorrow, you'll be raving about Dvoak and I'll be raving about Amadeus! (can i spell?)
Yes, you can spell. And it's
Yes, you can spell.
And it's a deal!
I am looking up Dvorak right now.
go you!

Right now
Right now I'm listening to the playlist on this page:

but I'd never heard any of it before. It helped me write something, though.

The only way to achieve clarity is through confusion.
a really off topic way to answer that.....
Sometimes it sets the right mood for me, but it has to be right. I listen to music all the time, and I have different playlists and artists for different moods. Actually..... I've had writers block for a couple weeks now and I'm thinking maybe it's because of the music I'm listening to..... Tokio Hotel, Panic at the Disco, and The Used aren't exactly the most happiest of bands..... Hmmmm. I'll try a different playlist.
But yeah, I like listening to Panic at the Disco's album Pretty. Odd. when I write, or stuff like Death Cab for Cutie, or anything that's alternative and doesn't sound like pop or rock. But normally I do like rock, just I don't think it's the best for when my two selves collide.
Now I have to explain that. One side of me is alternative (I associate emotions, labels, and general.... things.... with genres of music) and writes, loves the outdoors, and is a generally happy, carefree person. The other side of me is rock, emo, dark, etc. Tokio Hotel is sort of the darker side, and Death Cab for Cutie is sort of the happier side.
That was really off- topic, and now you all think I'm totally crazy and weird, but that's how it is.
music
I can't not listen to music and write, it's impossible for me. I listen to a lot of alternative rock (Panic at The Disco, Fall Out Boy, etc.) and Classic rock (the Beatles, the Byrds, The Grateful Dead) and some heavy rock (The Used, Tokio Hotel). My favorite thing to listen to while I'm writing is the "Across the Universe" soundtrack, because it really makes you think (especially if you've seen the movie and have some context to put it with) but then sometimes I'll turn on some classical stuff because it's pretty calming. But sometime s I'll just put "Hey Jude" on replay for two hours and write to that (thats my favorite song)

The Beatles
They really are, although I just found out that they did drugs..... :( ...... that was a disappointment. But they're still good. I just watched Across the Universe last night, and I fell asleep after I Am The Walrus and woke up during Strawberry Fields Forever. I woke up and it was around midnight and there were all these strawberries floating everywhere and then they started bleeding...... and then a few minutes later you see Jude with blood all over his face and I thought he died, so I started crying. It was a sad movie. I cried during the funeral of Lucy's boyfriend. That was really sad.
they did take drugs, but
they did take drugs, but eventually stopped.
thus the whole "I am the
thus the whole "I am the Walrus" thing

What what stands for?
What what stands for?
Lucy...Sky...Diamonds....LSD
Lucy...Sky...Diamonds....LSD
That's a common
That's a common misconception. The song got its name from a drawing that John Lennon's then-four-year-old son Julian had drawn of a girl in his class (named "Lucy") flying through a starry sky. He (Julian) called the drawing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". Hence the name.
I would. If I wrote
I would.
If I wrote songs.
Which I don't.
But I once wrote a four-line poem called "my knee smells like lavender".
songs
I haven't written or sung any songs of my own creation since third grade, and those songs are..... not so great. I wrote a song about a guy I liked, that went "why do I like you, why do I love you, why have I picked you, hallelujah, hallelujah." That was third grade. The in fourth grade I had just read the magic tree house book about the civil war, so I sang a song about that. (Unfortunately, my parents were present for that one.) Then one time I made up a song that went "If you want to buy a silver tripod, you must believe in god." My friend was over that day, and that's the only thing I think she's heard me sing. I am not a very musical person.
:)
you guys make me
you guys make me laugh!
internally, because I have a sore throat.

What??? I am going to go
What??? I am going to go listen to that song again.
Someone on our bus said that the song "Let It Be" was about them splitting up.
I like them better now. :)
I like them better now.

Trues, the movie is sad, but
True, the movie is sad, but its amazing
