Telling

I WROTE THIS FOR THE VOICE
AND POSTED IT ON MY TEACHERS ACCOUNT.
THIS IS NOT PLAGIARISM. I WROTE IT

Angry
He would walk
Up to me

Get all close.
“What did you say?”
“You were tackling him”

I feel compelled to run
And hide

But don’t
I stand my ground

But look down
Showing some bravery anyhow...

He puffed out his chest
He sneers and glares between his eyebrows

I want to run
But don’t

As my body closes in
I hear

 A yell from behind
“What are you doing?”

And relief washes over me
As he steps back
Thank god for people

Who stand up
for one another
because anger and fear
can be scary

You told
Because you did
The right thing...

Telling

I walk away quickly
as the recess monitor

Doesn’t do much
Just a
“Don’t do that”

From outside the tank, through crimson red glass framed by dark metals, you could see a face. It was a fair face, one of charm and prominence. The body looks gelatinous, as if the weeks of incubation and chemicals had smoothed it down.
