To submit to Newspaper Series

  • Log in. (Click "Not a YWP member?" to create an account.)

  • Click "create content" and create an ENTRY
  • Fill out "title," "author name, school & grade" and "prompt" boxes.
  • Paste story into "body."
  • Click "Submit." You are done.
    NOTES: Your account email must be accurate; a "blog" entry must be resubmitted as an ENTRY to be considered.

Fire

But she watched
Them
Do it

They
Weren't there
She wasn't
About to be
A coward
And she was
Fascinated
So she slipped
Her hand
Through
This fire
This fire that
Wanted her
Soft skin
To stay forever
Tasting
Grabbing
But she wouldn't
Stay
And she never wanted
To move
Wanted to find out
What it really
Meant
To get burnt.

It actually doesn't hurt at all, and you can't really feel the heat more than being right next to it...
After you've done it, it seems so much less dangerous and so much more intriging...

i feel that way sometimes like if i look pull my hand through the flames, i just want to leave it there, see why people are afraid.. im not as long as i dont keep my hand in. i like it a lot, well done depicts everything i think.
