To submit to Newspaper Series

  • Log in. (Click "Not a YWP member?" to create an account.)

  • Click "create content" and create an ENTRY
  • Fill out "title," "author name, school & grade" and "prompt" boxes.
  • Paste story into "body."
  • Click "Submit." You are done.
    NOTES: Your account email must be accurate; a "blog" entry must be resubmitted as an ENTRY to be considered.

Butterfly Effect

The churning excitement
Buried deep inside
Bubbles to the surface
Warming me
Washing me in joy.

Smiling without a reason
Not needing a reason
Only needing you.
Your comforting embrace surrounding me,
Your gentle touch caressing me,
The taste of your kiss hanging on my lips,
The sweet sound of your voice echoing in my ears,
And the way your imperfect smile brings out mine.

The way I long to see you
When we are apart
Laying imagining
You
Me
Us.

The way I need you
When we are together
Laying imaging
Today
Tomorrow
Forever.

You are the reason that I drift
In a haze of thoughts
To land in your arms.
You are the cause of that feeling,
The burning excitement
That bubbles up inside
And flows free.

You set them loose
Those butterflies inside me.
