On the job

There are many different customers who come into the restaurant where I work. I can hardly remember most of them because they have been mostly tourists. But there were two lovers that I remember well.

It was a typical Sunday. The mall was filled people who carried shopping bags. It wasn't busy until lunch time. There were two pair of Chinese elderly people along with their family. The woman had pure white shoulder length hair, and the man was bald. Side by side, they were taking care of each other and planned to share a plate together. One was trying to remind the other about the value of vegetables. The other remind the first about the watching their carbs. At the end of the decision, their daughter and son fought over which one should pay for the meals.

I really liked this piece.

I really liked this piece. I can see the busy mall, the restaurant and the two families coming in and arguing about what to order. I like how you describe the two couples and what they argued about. The main thing I would like to see is a little more detail. For example, who else was with them in their families? You mention a son and daughter but was that all? How old were they (the son and daughter)? What did they do while their parents argued? What did the couples finally order? And who ended up paying?

Thanks so much for sharing this.
