Reaching Out

sinisterVT's picture

I seem to be lost somewhere between London and Neverland when I'm with you

Moon set high over my head leading me towards the jungles and ships just to drown in pools of thought.

I can see that little bit on the horizon growing larger and smaller when our hands part and meet again.

The sun always visible over that last little bit shadow but always unreachable.

However, my hands are reaching out to grab that sun and I am holding on with all of my strength.

Never wanting to let go through fear that you might drop back into the sea and forget how to fly

I held the sun high in the sky to keep my mind at bay while I played little melodies for you; lifting you up through the clouds and down again just to see if I was still lost in your eyes.

The clouds seem to fly with us, touching our bare feet like the hot sand I'm trying to find.

I once made it there by myself

Standing, the wind against me just to get a taste of you in the morning air when I ran through the fields just to find us sitting on those rocks again.

Now I need you with me

I just want to find you on the beach again with moonlight shining a spotlight down on your face.

Everything seemed still, and our embrace seemed a vice to hold the breaking dawn.

But when you let go I slip away from your clear face and slide out, into the next morning when you are gone away for a week.

Back to the real world, and left me sitting all alone in Neverland

It isn't you that's gone from me, It’s all those little pieces of me that I need you to have.

I want you to have the rest of me, I do not need it, but I need you more than ever.

I sit and wait trying to remember how to fly, days pass watching for a sign of you, all alone in Neverland.
