All I Am

Podcast:

Written in...er...Wyoming, I think, about a month ago. Finally recorded now that the microphone's working.

This is me,
this is all I have to offer.
Mirror's eye
harsh as my own.

This is me,---------------------------Do you see
this is all I have to offer.---------what I turn away from,
Mirror's eye--------------------------why I try
harsh as my own.-----------------not to be alone.

This is me,
this is all I have to give.
I'm so afraid
you won't take.

This is me,---------------------------This is me,
this is all I have to give.----------life ready-made to live.
-------------------------------------------Completely free
-------------------------------------------and maybe fake.

Let me go
I say.
Let me know
I'm okay.
But my reflection only shakes her head
and smiles as our tears slip away.

This is me,
this is all I have to offer.
Mirror's eye
harsh as my own.

Do you see
what I turn away from,
why I try
not to be alone.

This is me...

I like this. A suggestion-

I like this. A suggestion- the lyrics are really beautiful, but when you layer them, it's hard to understand what's being said. You might try making one half louder than the other so that it's accented, or using one half as a harmony. Just a suggestion.

And if you're interested, I just fooled around with some chords that could work:
G-Em-Am for the verses
C#m-Bm for the bridge
Maybe I can show you tomorrow? We'll see.

Aye.

Aye. I was afraid of that.
