The heart's view

By Jayla
Spaulding High School, Grade 10

Everything in the world is so hurtful. Coming from me most would say "How could you know, not being on the outside and all?” But most just don’t understand that everything that happens effects me. Every sad moment, every excited child, all the happy smiles, and all the saddened frowns; I feel it all, I see it all, and I understand it all. Every time a child opens their birthday present and feels the happiness of what is inside, I glow. Every time a teen weeps from young love not working like it should, I break. Much of my perspective of the world comes from small parts and not the big picture, but I still know what is going on. From my point of view the world can cause much pain and hurt. I also know, however, that if you let yourself hope and dream the world could be filled with happiness. It’s an undeniable fact that the world hurts, but if you let it the world can also heal you. Maybe you can show the world you're stronger, maybe you can change the way YOUR heart sees the world.
