History made -- updated

Still interested in responses ... And we've added video to Obama's speech link below. (gg)
History was made on Nov. 4, 2008: Sen. Barack Obama was elected as our nation's first African-American president. In a generation we have traveled from segregation and open bigotry to a black president. Remarkable. Extraordinary.

obama
When my dad told me Obama won I was so happy all I could say was great in a good way,I just did not know what to say it was just so amazing.I think Obama will clear the way for other skin tones who are just the same as us and woman to become president. I feel so proud to have lived through this historic election and I can't wait to tell my kids about this someday and they might say you are that old!
Obama won! Let me just say
Obama won! Let me just say that to myself over and over until I finally believe me. I am overjoyed. I think that he will make a GREAT president. I also think that Bush is leaving around a crap load of shit for him to take care of, although I think he can deal with it. As happy I am that he won though, you have to wonder how many of his promises he's ACTUALLY going to be able to keep. A president only has so much power.

OBAMA!
Yes, I posted this under Snowboard-person's blog about our new pres. but I felt that it would work here as well.
There is nothing more promising than realizing that this country will change, will pursue a new direction for the betterment of our reputation, its people, and conceivably the world at most. I have never felt more comfortable falling asleep or walking down the street or going to school - Obama has given us hope and "in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope". I cannot speak for everyone here but I can guarantee that almost everyone in America has felt an immediate change as a result of this election. This is a piece of history I am honored to be apart of - we're all extremely lucky; we should be grateful, no matter who we were rooting for during the election.

McCain
I was an Obama supporter from the beginning, but McCain handled defeat with class. His speech showed that even with all of harsh campainging, the ultimate goal is to try to unite the country. So Go Obama! but McCain deserves a cheer too, its easy to be a bad loser, something he obviously is not.

Twilight, again. Another ending. No matter how perfect the day is, it always has to end.

My Spanish teacher brought
My Spanish teacher brought up a good point- she has a 1 1/2 year old son, and she said she is soo happy that he's going to grow up with a black president. A lot of kids are going to grow up with the idea of skin colors not being an issue. They'll think everyone had the same rights all along and not think anything about being black or white. It's like when you were a kid and thought that being a girl was no different from being a boy (besides the obvious), you just thought that all along they had the same rights. Anyway, I think it is soo amazing that the next generation of kids are going to grow up with those beliefs.
