Love for Horses
Love for Horses
By Christopher Raiche
Oh, how I love to ride horses!
To feel the rush of the wind on my face.
How I love to gallop up a hillside,
And have the scenery take my breath away.
I love to see the log cabins
And to view in front, their lovely fountains
High up on the beautiful mountains.
Oh, how I love the joy of riding!
Of just me and my horse abiding.
From the time I walk right out that gate;
And then begin to travel at different rates
As I move him, from gait to gait
Then all too soon, I must turn back,
For it is getting late.
Oh how I hate to head back,
But I must, so I start.
I begin at a steady walk
Then to myself, I start to talk.
I say, ‘Yes, I love you my horse,
And this I know very well.
And if I love you enough,
I know you’ll love me as well.’
