14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.
Alternate: Splat! Use that word in a story or a poem.

Vermont

Vermont seasons are unexpected, tricky, and long lasting. Winter, spring, summer, and fall. The circle of seasons goes in a continuing loop that never ends.

Winter. The first snow of the year is usually in November or December. When the snow starts to rise higher and higher, the thought of a snow day builds up inside of you. When the snow is so-o-o high and you hear that the schools are all closed, jumping into your snow suit and into the snow! Building snow tunnels, snow forts, and snow men and women. Having snowball fights, eating sugar on snow, drinking hot cocoa, and sledding on steep hills. The trees look like they have been glazed with melted frosting. After the snow melts into ice, and the ice starts to melt, you can finally see grass! The winds are still cold, and it feels like a thousand swords are cutting into your face.
Spring. Muddy lawns. Green grass. Farms start hanging up the blue tubes. Buckets are hanging from trees. Walking through the woods and seeing the blue tubes hanging everywhere is fun to look at as you walk through the woods. The smell of maple fills your body with warmth as you scarf down waffles pancakes. After finishing homework, you feel like swinging on swings and playing games with good friends. Laying under the white puffy clouds, reading books, going to the movies . . . The end of school approaches, and you feel so happy and ready for a break.
Summer. Heat. The sweat, rolling down your forehead. No source of cool air. Bike rides down to the lake. Jumping into the water and swimming toward the docks. Jumping up and off of the dock. When you get out of the water, you grab your towel and dry off quickly. On dark, humid, and muggy days, you can tell that a thunderstorm is brewing. A loud "CRACK!" and all of the electricity goes out. Dark and scary, you search through drawers for a flashlight and a box of matches. When the lights turn back on, you feel safe and reassured. When your parents take you to go get school supplies, you feel excited for the new school year, but sad that the summer has just ended.
Fall. The beginning of school is exciting. Seeing your friends, meeting your teacher, and greeting new children. The foliage in Vermont is like a painting that was by fall itself. Tourists come from everywhere and take many pictures. Going to school and seeing all of the beautiful colors. But after a while, the leaves fall down and leave the trees bare. The first snowfall is like a magical event in life. The snow creates a small layer that just skims the ground.
This is Vermont. Never boring, ongoing, no end. Vermont.
