Within Myself

Let me ask you a question that has dicated my fate
how could the spark of love
create this inferno of hate
when did you know that this would come to be
for it robbed us of a childhood
and skewed reality.
We grew to fast
throughout the process of mediation
holding onto the past
we need to change this situation
for now we know too much
of mistrust and miscommunication.
Call it a divorce, call it what you like
but I've grown tired of the word
and the endless fight.
My walls come up and i become disconnected
I wish I didn't have to
but there's just no end to it
so I go within myself
and I am protected.

Lets walk together through the fire and ice
pick up the scattered shards
and begin this new life.
For now I am ready

This is great. The rhyming

This is great. The rhyming gives it a lot of power. You can FEEL the anger. My favorite part is the last line. It is so different from the rest of the piece and yet it fits perfectly.
Well done :)
