Remember Me

Usagi's picture

I’m good at hiding pain.
I don’t even flinch.
I’m good at arguments.
I don’t give an inch.
I can fade away
until I’m not there.
I’m good at pretending
I don’t even care.
I don’t care.
Yes, I care.

I will write a thousand words
in ink upon my hand
and I will read a thousand books
to try to understand
and I will post a thousand poems
in the hope that one
will be read and remembered
when my life is done.

I’m trying to figure out
my reality
so that there’ll be something left
to remember me.
I try to find what might be there
deep inside my mind
So in the end, when I die
I’ll leave something behind.

I will write a thousand words
in ink upon my hand
and I will read a thousand books
to try to understand
and I will post a thousand poems
in the hope that one
will be read and remembered
when my life is done.
I don’t know if I’ll succeed
but I have to try
because the only thing I know
is I don’t want to die.
I don’t want to die.

(bridge)
I’m fifteen years old.
Fifteen years
worth of thoughts, worth of tears.
Fifteen years old
and already
I’m afraid you won’t remember me.

I will write a thousand words
in ink upon my hand
and I will read a thousand books
to try to understand
and I will post a thousand poems
in the hope that one
will be read and remembered
when my life is done.
I don’t know if I’ll succeed
but I have to try
because the only thing I know
is I don’t want to die.
I don’t want to die.
Please don’t let me die.

This a great piece.Its

This a great piece. Its really sad, but I like it. I think this has all crossed our minds at some point, and I still think someone will remember us. Even with all the angst-y writing we all post. This just flows very nicely, it makes me wish I could feel this way more often.

It's too early to know how

It's too early to know how much the world will remember you
(I'm sure you'll make yourself memorable)
But your world, which contains quite a few people, will always remember you.
