Vermonters
Vermont. Definitely a country state. Not for me. When I was little, I used to love waking up to snow every morning in the winter, but now as I get older I’ve realized that I hate the snow. In fact, I hate being cold. 70% of the year is cold and then in the summer everyone is complaining that it’s too hot. Even though that is not the reason why I hate Vermont, I just thought I would put that out there.
Although Vermont is very peaceful, it's way too small and people know way too much about other people. I like crowded cities where it's loud and all lit up, like New York City for instance. I absolutely love New York City; it is the most amazing city I have ever been to (note that I haven’t been to many, but it's still pretty cool). Los Angeles and Las Vegas are two cities that I would love to visit also. Vermont is a deserted state where there is nothing around. I mean seriously it takes about 30-45 minutes just to get to the next town. How boring is that. I think there are only like five or six major cities in Vermont. I think they are Burlington, Rutland, Vergennes, and yada yada yada . . . see? If I don’t remember them than obviously they are not that important. Another thing I hate is the stench. I mean who would want to be driving on the road and all of a sudden you smell cow or skunk. It’s disgusting. It smells like cow poo everywhere. No matter where you are, you will always see a farm or smell something foul in the air. I have stepped in cat crap or dog crap in almost every pair of shoes that I own, and that sucks for me because I usually refuse to wear shoes after I step in something nasty.
Moving on, You would think that after living in Vermont for so long I would be used to the fact that people are going to get into your business and be nosy. And you would think that I would be used to all the gossip, drama, and false rumors that people never forget. As a teenager there is always going to be gossip, drama, and rumors floating around. But when it gets to the excessive point of non stop pushing for those little down falls in your life that people can’t get enough of . . . aaagh!
I went to New York in the year of 2006 and I absolutely loved it. I didn’t want to go home. I loved the crowd, the lights, the food, the shopping, it was all amazing.
There are two parts of Vermont that I would miss dearly if I left. The first and best thing to miss is my family. My family means the world to me and I can’t imagine living life in the fast lane without them, but I know it has to happen someday. The other thing I would miss is the nature and how beautiful the sun is before it sets, and the stars in the midnight sky, and the great outdoors. Vermont is very beautiful; I can admit that. I love colors and all Vermont has to offer is green. But, even though green is my favorite color, even I get sick of it.
