Blog of the day: I Giggle, and She Laughs...

There was a time
Long ago
When I had giggled,
And she had laughed.

Her tall freckled figure,
Wrinkled and old.
My tiny pink body,
Frail and new.

Her callused feet
Comfy in soft warn slippers.
My small feet,
Cute mini toes wrapped in knit booties.

Her ankles and shins
Rough and chapped from dry winter air.
My plump ones,
Ready for developing new muscles.

Her knobby knees,
Weak under her weight.
My steady knees
Ready for pumping my way through life.

Her drawn, wise face
Show the memories and shattered dreams of a lifetime.
My chubby round face,
Innocent and strong, with hope for a lifetime of dreams.

Her eyes with wings of crow’s feet,
Are steady as a drum, compassionate and thoughtful.
My young eyes,
Fascinated by everything, which has become nothing to her.

Her cold and shaky hands,
Jingling ice against the walls of her glass.
My smooth hands,
Unaware of hard labor and pain to come.

Our eyes meet.
Young and old,
Scared and fascinated,
Steady and wise.

Our hands touch.
Young and old,
Smooth and unaware,
Cold and shaking.

Her face brightens,
The corners of her mouth lift slightly.
My soft lips part and I giggle,
And she laughs…

This is AWESOME

I like this alot.
It's like, a child and a gramother right?
I think it's cute and very worthy of publication. :]]
I guess thats why it is. :]]]

Wow

This piece of writing is a great comparison of the young and the old! I liked the format you used in outlining this piece. It is long but that is because there are lots of differences between the young and the old. Great job writing this piece! keep up the work.

great description

I like this alot. I like how you compared the young and the old. It shows how much difference there is between the young and the old but than how much is still the same between them. Good Job!

I love it

This is such a good poem. It made me sad and happy at the same time, it was that beautiful. I loved how you showed the difference between you and the old woman. How you giggled and she laughed, so true.
