Life changing moment
By Jessie Fortier

The day my mother died, I was riding in the car on my way home from lunch. I was with my grandmother (on my Dad’s side of the family). We were at Five Corners, and we got the call on the cell phone that she had died.
My eyes became a blur, and then I started to cry. My grandmother had come to a stop because the traffic was so bad that day. To add to the time getting home, the train just had to go by. When we got home I burst into tears again.
There were too many people at my house that night so I could not get any sleep. My aunt (Mom’s sister) took me to her house. I was glad to leave because it was too painful to be at home. The next day we went to her funeral, which was the most painful thing. I hope that I never get diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and have to leave my family.
It's almost like someone dug a hole in my heart that will never get filled.
