Hostage sea captain from Underhill is FREE!

Richard Phillips of Underhill, a captain of a Maersk line cargo-ship, was freed Sunday after being held hostage in a lifeboat in the Indian Ocean by Somali pilots. (Click on forum headline to see latest news block.) What are your thoughts and opinions? If you live in Underhill or go to MMU, how has this event affected you and your community? What are your thoughts for Mr. Phillips and his family?
Sidethought: If you were a member of the media, and your charge was to get comments from the Phillips family and were asked by the family to leave, what would you do?

It's a great thing he's
It's a great thing he's back, surely. But three dead?
I feel bad for the guys with the injured hand...does anyone know how he's going to be tried?
Sometimes it's really scary....
Usagi: I do believe Special Opps had yet to arrive at that point, nobody was ready to shoot and then the opportunity passed. I would have rather they wait, instead of moving in seconds late of an escape attempt and getting the Captain shot by accident.
**still cracking up about the "yay snipers" thing XD**
Which is why I should not
Which is why I should not listen to rumors. Thank you, Sauce.
I was
I was extremely impressed by Mr. Phillips' courage. This being the biggest piece of news connected with my town for a long time, rumors are flying everywhere, but from what I've heard he tried to escape, leaving the U.S. crews free to open fire...which they did not. Fail. I'm glad it worked out.
Yay sniper teams, eh? As long as you've got your priorities straight.
I'm happy for his
I'm happy for his family

oh
I know, I just heard.
That's excelent
Captain Phillips
He was FREED!

If they asked me to leave, I
If they asked me to leave, I would most certainly respect their place. I'm so curious and anxious for the future and for this to end, and I am praying so much for them to return safely. I do not live Underhill, but I can imagine the pain and struggle they are going through. Many, many prayers for their family. I hope he's back safe and sound.

I would definitely leave the
I would definitely leave the Phillips family alone. I don't understand why it is so important to know every single detail the second it comes out. It's okay to wait a little bit! Eventually you'll know the whole story, so they they should stop being so impatient. Obviously Mrs. Phillips is under a lot of stress, and I think it is extremely disrespectful of the reporters to not give her any privacy.
I think that it's crazy that this is happening, and even crazier that this is a captain from Vermont! It's pretty scary. I had no idea pirates even still existed until now.
