What You Wish For

I've been working on this all day without really knowing why. The only reason I'm uploading this in its unfinished form is that people want to hear what I've got so far- and this is the easiest way to do it.
I think I'll finish it tomorrow.
Without further ado, though, have a listen to my a capella cover of Guster's What You Wish For. (The only non-voice component is me hitting things- my desk, a book, or my head, I'm pretty sure.)
The lyrics, up to where I got (which is three quarters of the way through the bridge):
Woke up today to everything grey
And all that I saw just kept goin' on and on
Sweep all the pieces under the bed
Close all the curtains and cover my head
And what you wish for won't come true
You aren't surprised, though, are you? (traditionally, it's 'love', not 'though', but I like it better this way)
1. If this serenade (centred)
2. Repeat after me (right)
3. Just a little bit closer (left)
1. Is not what you want
2. Do what I say
3. Caught up in a lie
1. It's just how it is
2. Won't change a thing
3. Got a little bit colder
1. It keeps goin'
1, 2, 3. On and on
Come out, come out, wherever you are
Would you do it all over right from the start?
And what you wish for won't come true
You aren't surprised, though, are you?
So what you wish for won't come true
You aren't surprised, though, are you?
Once had this dream- crashed down in Oz
Not black and white, but where the colors are...
(The rest, to come:
I never dreamed that I would let it go
And I will get what I deserve
Keep all the secrets under the bed
Open the curtains, forget what I said
And what you wish for could come true
You aren't surprised, though, are you?
So what you wish for could come true
You aren't surprised, though,
Are you?)

gradster,
This is fantastic! You sound great, and the lyrics are very interesting. I quite enjoyed the layering of harmonies.
Beautifully done.

Your singing style is like Imogen Heap. I love it.

I do have trouble with lyrics; this isn't my own work. I'm just copying someone else.
... Also, I'd like to amend that. Mostly, I have trouble putting lyrics and music together. Doing each separately I'm fine.
