Four Seasons

I am a snowflake
who dances by the bare limbs
and through the bitter chills
of winter
I beat to my own drum
of inconsistent rhythms
and never-ending music,
and I fall when I want to fall.
Nobody can stop this music.
I am a rainbow,
veiled behind spectrums
of white clouds and sky blue,
seldom ever exposed.
My colors span from end to end
and smile at the world before
hiding once more.
I’ll be back soon.
I am a puddle
of rainwater and emotions,
fused together by molecular bonds.
Sodden boots break through my
drops of personality and soak up
all of what’s left.
I wish they would see me.
I am a pigmented leaf
of green trees and slender branches,
blossoming into maturity.
I’ve lived on this tree, on this branch,
for my entire life.
I need to float away along this breeze,
and change colors.
