The Caged Bird
The caged bird sits there in his cage,
Singing into the wind,
Not a happy song,
But a sad song,
Hoping that some that someone will come rescue him,
He sees another bird,
It’s the prettiest bird he’s ever seen,
He sings the loudest he’s ever sang,
In the happiest of ways,
The other bird looks at him, but it is only a passing glance,
Then she flies away,
She meets up with another bird,
The caged bird watching from a distance the two birds flying away,
The caged bird stops singing,
He feels something that he has never felt before,
His heart is broken,
He falls to the floor in pain,
Wondering if it will ever go away
