Yup
OK, so no one dares come into these forums, particularly this one. So I'll get something started. I go to high school. Drugs are pretty much hidden and not hidden. I mean I know who comes to school stoned and I know who gets faced on weekends. It's all around. And it was around when I was in grade school, too.
It seems to me, though, that there are several ways I can go. I can bend to pressure and screw up my life. Or I can withstand them for a while and then they go away. I don't need it.
It is hard, though, to resist the pressure. Particularly at some of the parties.

Avoid It
I do my best to avoid it. While I have friends that do drugs I tell them right off if they come anywhere near me with any sort of drugs or alchohol with the intention of getting me to try it they will find themselves on the ground.
It may seem rude to tell them that, but I am strict about making sure I never destroy myself with something as vile as that. I leave them alond about it, because I don't want to preach.
While that works for me, other people may need other ways to stay clear of the peer presure. Making a promise with someone you trust to never do drugs or drink may work, or getting into a program that takes you away from the temptation. As for the parties, I don't go to any so I don't know how bad it is at one. Try to avoid the ones you know drugs and alchohol will be at, and if it appears at a party when you're not expecting it, try leaving if you feel to much pressure.
I can't personally say I
understand the pressure thing because I've always yearned to experiment; I've never been "pushed" into something that I didn't want to do. But for those of you who don't WANT to drink or take drugs, then don't! You do have a choice. If your friends are trying to force that on you, well that pretty much shows how much they care about your opinion. People's beliefs need to be respected, and no one wants things shoved down their throat.
I just don't have friends.
I just don't have friends. Problem solved! /sarcasm
Well, whichever path you take, remember that no matter what anyone tells you, you have a choice. No matter if it's a command from the President of the United States or a request from a little kid, you ALWAYS have the option to accept or refuse. You just have to be able to weigh the consequences of your decision is all.

Pobre Geist, porque no tienes amigos? Yo tengo solo un poco de amigos, pero me encantan ellos. Vaya a tu escuela, y saca unos amigos buenos, porque todos personas necesitan unos buenos amigos.

My view...
The one thing that I say about drugs is that the only things that come from them are bad. Its your own body that you are poisoning and destroying, so I can't tell you not to do them. However, I can say that they only cause harm. In my opinion, doing something like that is just plain stupid.

Agreed
I agree with squeejay. It is you and you get to decide. If you know what is good for you, you will stay away from them and if you get pressured, just walk away. It is the most stupid thing besides smoking.
8th grade dance
for our 8th grade "graduation" dance thing, there were 3 girls who went outside and got drunk. i hope they dont read this and get mad or anything, but . . . yeah. it was pretty scary because basically only their friends knew about it and they were scared to tell. i just wanted to throw that out there.
