My prince

pineapple_babbit's picture

I'm in the dark,
all alone,
waiting for my prince.
One by one,
they start to come,
and when they fail I wince.

I wait all day,
and sometimes all night,
watching them do their best,
But like all others,
from the past,
they fail just like the rest.

One day in the summer,
a new guy came,
to rescue me.
I didn't get my hopes up,
or even watch,
All I did was sip some tea.

After an hour,
or maybe two,
I decided to take a peak.
Right outside my door
was my prince
sitting for he was weak.

When he heard me
open my door,
he got up on his knee.
He got out a ring,
and looked in my eyes,
and said, "will you marry me?"

Nice

very nice poem...
touching... and i liked the mood that you carried in it.

although... I picture you as the type of gal that would run off chasing the prince trying to *huggles* him... =)
