White

So once there was this girl. And this girl's skin was white. Not just not-black, but like really white. She looked like printer paper or a new porcelain sink. She was always cold because her skin couldn't absorb light or warmth. When she went outside on a sunny day, she was impossible to look at. Because she reflected the sun. When she went dancing to numb her pain, she glowed purple in the black lights.

So one day this girl, this pure white girl, decided it was time for a change. She decided that today she would be blue. She found an old blue sweater in the street and a pair of blue jeans in an alley. When she put them on she was happy because she was blue.

Later that day, she was smiling and walking past a storefront window when she caught her own reflection. Her clothes had bleached. She looked down and sure enough the once-blue sweater was the most pristine shade of white ever seen and the jeans had taken "faded" to a whole new level. She collapsed in the middle of the sidewalk outside the store and started to cry. She cried and she cried and beautiful white tears flowed down her beautiful white face and created a beautiful white puddle around the beautiful white girl. All she had wanted was to be blue.

After 20 minutes or so, a young woman came out of the store. She marvelled at the brilliant white in front of her and cleared her throat softly. The white girl looked up and saw in front of her, the most vibrant shade of red she'd ever seen or imagined. The red girl looked away slightly, out of embarassment, as the white girl stared at her. The white girl continued to stare until she was positive that the red girl was real. The white girl wiped away her tears and slowly stood up. She then extended her hand cautiously towards the red girl. Tentatively, the red girl took it. When they touched, they both switched colors. The red girl became white and the white girl became red. They quickly dropped hands and they returned to their original colors. They stared at eachother for several minutes before trying it again. Once again, they switched colors, and once again they went back to normal when they let go. They began to laugh and hug eachother and when they hugged, they turned pink.
