The Three Words

Hello, all. This is the result of the creative writing class I'm currently in. We were given a prompt- we were given ten words and had to use at least eight of them in a poem, which we had seven minutes to write. We were not allowed to cross anything out or go back and revise it. I thought I'd put it up here, seeing as I kind of like it.
The silence is a cacophany
An elephant in the room
A stop sign for the thoughts
Of everyone in the ballroom
If we took the silence outside
And wielded it like a weapon
Then waters would stop in their rivers
Fungi would cease to grow
Bells would lose their ability to ring
And everyone in the vicinity
Children
Adults
Seniors
Would stop in their tracks
Clocks would stand still
We could rule the world
Without sugary lies
Or promises for stuff we cannot keep
We could use this silence as a weapon
If we didn't feel as though it would
Explode the room into fragments of dusty mirrors
Shattering you and I like fragile glass
I wish the balloon of silence would pop
As you stare across the room at me
And the three words settle between us
Like weights.

Now I'm curious
December-
Now I'm cuious as to what the eight words were that you had to use. can I makes osme guesses? If so, i think fungi was one of them.
Anyhow, this is a great piece! you said no revisons or crossing out? So this is the unedited version? Amazing.
Thank you for sharing this, I'm glad I read it.

If you point your finger at someone, there are three of them pointing right back at you.

Oh, let me try and remember. Cacophany, elephant, ballroom (maybe), rivers, fungi (well called), seniors, sugar, and balloon, I think.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for the comment,
December.
