WESTFORD - My Town!

I live in a small town
No fancy ball gowns
Not a big old city
Just roads that are muddy and gritty
No constant highway noise
Just simply country joys
There's no annoying city lights
As I watch the stars at night
It is fairly quiet and serene
No grafetti or signs that are obscene
Rarely any sirens screaming
And no where to take the dry cleaning
We have a great town common
Where you can relax and play backgammon
Oh, it's a really happenin' place
I even participated in a three-legged race
We have a parade every July Fourth
A time to celebrate our nation's birth
Eating fresh foods from the Farmer's Market
Or throw bean bags at the dunking booth target
My school is small, it's a K-8
My friends in the city can't relate
The bus ride to school seems forever long
But it is where I can usually scribble out a song
I buy and I eat lots and lots of Cow Tails
Not having to worry about the taste of stuffed snails
In our quaint little country store
Such a wonderful place to hear town lore
We have only one church
It is surrounded by lots of white birch
Everyone is treated like they are a winner
Best time of all, is at the potluck dinners
At the Red Brick Meeting House
I went to learn how to dowse
On Tuesday nights I am in a class for Yoga
I've even watched a slide show trip of Fort Ticonderoga
Our library has a limited books by Nietzsche
However, each week adults get together to learn Tai Chi
Our librarian gets books from places far, maybe near
But every summer I love being a Youth Volunteer
This town has many little quirks
But the people here aren't afraid of hard work
My favorite place is the old covered bridge
And hiking in my backyard up on the ridge
And even when I travel near and far
This town is my compass, my evening star
I appreciate everything my town has given me
I love Westford because it's the best place to be

My Town
You forgot the ice rink? You love going there. Every weekend you were out there skating and skating, sometime with Ben, and sometimes with your mom, but you were always there. How could you forget tho include the rink?
My Town - the rink
Youre right I didn't include it.
Our town has an outdoor hockey rink
Where I love to skate day and night
When winter is gone, it's gone in a blink
Leaving the lawn looking like it suffers from blight
Thank you.
funny

My Town

Westford
IDK?
IDK?
What?
Is there a question? Or was this a comment?
It is hard to give you a reply since I don't understand the statement.
Thank you for whatever IDK is.
Thank you

cute
Hay! That was really cute. I like it.
Thank You
Thank you.
Like the changes
Are you thinking about adding the rink stanzas in your message above?
Thank you
No. I am not going to add the rink to the poem. I was just joking with someone when I wrote it. I don't think it adds to the poems true meaning at all. Of course, I can be overruled by gg and Susan, and several others input. But personally, I don't think it is meant to be in.
Thank you for reading and your comments.
yeppp
Except Underhill of course!!! :P

Read, but keep on writing.
