Anywhere
If I could go anywhere,
I would go far away,
To a land where the children
And the animals play.
The sun, it would shine
Down on the land,
As my feet and my toes
Poked out of the sand.
The whisper in the wind
Would sing a beautiful song,
And the birds in the trees,
Would all sing along.
The smell in the air-
Like a million flowers-
Would only get stronger
With the Heavenly showers.
The people in this place
Would live happily together,
Through the good and the bad,
And through all kinds of weather.
They’d help out their neighbors.
They would keep a great peace.
The fighting and the hate in their world
Would all cease.
Where is this place?
That’s what I’d like to know.
Once I find it,
That’s where I’ll go.

Gentle touch
I can almost taste spring in lines like "a million flowers" and "heavenly showers". Nice job -- this is being offered week of March 5 to Barre Times Argus.
