I can't really remember the authors that well, but I know Cell is by Stephen King. If you lived in a hole your entire life, you wouldn't know who the author of His dark materials is.

I'll second Sleeping Freshmen, His Dark Materials, and both Abarats. Haven't read the others.

The Dark Is Rising series (nothing like the movie)
Eragon/Eldest (again, disregard the movie)
Twilight, New Moon (can't remember the other one)
Luna
Shakespeare Stealer
(Harry Potter is always taken as a given.)
Through The Looking Glass

And if you're in to classics, try Sense and Sensibility.

The one after New Moon is Eclipse.

I agree with Through the Looking Glass, but don't bother with the sequel.

Also: most of Scott Westerfeld's work and almost anything ever written by Tamora Pierce.

Sometimes one tends to forget the multitude of books she sees every morning beside her head as she awakes. You see them so often they become part of the wall.

Ah, yes, true that. Waking up at five in the morning can do that to a person. I need more books.

Me too. I'm currently reading "Notes From a Small Island" by Bill Bryson, which is a collection of anecdotes about England I found next to the bird guides in my dad's bookcase.

I like her Circle of Magic series. Though, I haven't read "The Will of the Empress" I really want to.

I also completely forgot about the Harry Potter series. My forgetfullness.

I'm reading the Secret Life of Bees and it is amazing so far.

I like modern teen reads but i also like historical fiction...

But recently I've been reading a lot of Stephen King and crime novels.
Caleb Carr has written two exceptionally good books called "The Alienist" and "Angel of Darkness".
