Sharing Is Awkward
Sharing poetry is awkward,
If you aren’t in a community of writers.
It is like collecting all of your feelings
Into a glass tank
For everyone
To analyze.
All of your inner most thoughts on display.
Outside of writers,
I feel as if,
People don’t understand that.
They think that emotions,
And feelings
Should be bottled up,
And locked away forever.
They don’t appreciate the art
Of emotions
And feelings
On display.
So many people have walked up to me and asked,
What I was doing.
When they hear
“writing poetry”,
Most chuckle,
And ask “why?”
Or
“Are you insane?”
Maybe,
It is awkward for them too
Because they don’t understand poetry,
Or can’t write it,
Or they can’t let their emotions out,
Or maybe,
Just maybe,
It is only me.

My problem with sharing
My problem with sharing is
that some people just
don't get it. Why do I feel
like the things I write?
I don't want to explain...
some people just don't
get it.
I know what you mean... It's

It's easy to share here, but when you see someone face to face, it gets embarassing and almost impossible to read....

I used to write in science class, but people got so INVASIVE.
