ELIMINATE THE JAMWICH PEANUT BUTTER BANANA SANDWICHES!!
At my school there are theses peanut butter banana jamwiches, they are packeged. There is actually no banana in them, here are the ingredients for the ''banana spread''
corn syrup
sugar
water
pectin
citric acid
artificial flavoring
potassium sorbate
preservatives
calcium citrate
titanium dioxide
yellow coloring
I want them to stop giving these as a lunch option, and use the money that they use for those for something healthy

Hrmm, for all the guff about how nobody saw the obesity crisis coming, this certainly seems like something seriously adding to it! And heck, who'd want to eat all those processed chemicals, anyways? It's just ick to think about all the crap that's in foods like these - schools should be ashamed of themselves, giving out such a sorry excuse for food like this to us growing teenagers!

Oh yeah, those things are definitly gross... My school got a new chef recently, and he's been all about that, Mt. Elmore bread, fresh baked stuff, really good food, local Mt. Mansfield milk and other things like vegitarian options (soymilk :D) and veggies. Yummm.
For schools, though, it does take time and a lot of effort and random processes to make big changes like that, and the best thing the students can do is simply stop buying them, as well as other actions like you have here!
I like the way you're thinking, trying to work for healthier foods here in the capital of organics and non-GMO's and healthy-food-ness in general. Nice work! After all, if you live somewhere like we do, why not take advantage of all the gifts you've got. Nice work!

But if we're talking about these jamwiches, then in the ingredients list provided by the link below, there are bananas in the banana spread (if they are indeed the same, from the ingredients like you have provided, this appears to be the product in question).

Our lunch room is great about serving almost all local stuff. We get our bread from Red Hen and our meet from various farms around. Our vegies come from local sources as well. A school with resources such as these around should use them. It might be hard to do, but it is worth it and it would be better for the kids as well.
