Seeing Past That Broken Smile...

She wakes up in the morning, hoping that today will be easier than yesterday, numerous thoughts, both good and bad, race through her mind like a runaway train. She leaves home and walks into reality, with nothing but her broken smile. No one can see past that gorgeous smile of hers, or so she thinks, but I can see through those sad eyes and that forced smile, into a girl who has been hurt way too many times. No one will ask questions, and she won’t have to answer any, she won’t have to reveal any part of her anymore, if she just smiles. She goes through her day on cruise control, putting her feelings aside so that maybe the pain will fade away. She isn’t unhappy, just all broken up. She’s so put together, yet so bent out of shape, no body could ever tell just how unsure she is of what’s to come. All she knows is if she keeps the little bit of hope she has left, that tomorrow may be a brighter day, and maybe, just maybe, that broken smile will fade away.
