The Tennis Match and My Mentor

Emma likes to consider herself a pro-tennis player. She always told her mentor, Ms. Besaw, that she would never give up. Tomorrow was the big game! The next day at the match, the score was tied. Emma missed the last ball! “Oops,” she said as tears started to roll down her face.

Luckily her mentor, Ms. Besaw, was there to cheer her up. She said, “You are so brave and did so well Emma. Even though you didn’t win, you still tried your best and you did great!”

Emma looked at her mentor and said, “You are the best mentor and friend that I have ever had! I can always look up to you!” That made Ms. Besaw feel great. Ms. Besaw said, “Thanks” with a proud smile.

This story is fiction, but my real mentor, Ms. Besaw, is not and I love her and always look up to her. She has been mentoring me since I was two years old, and I hope she will be with me forever!
