14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.

Keeping the Faith
By Ryan Berry

Fairfield Center School, Grade 5

I was walking along one day and saw a bus come up to the sidewalk. Some people got off. I started to walk away, but I looked back and saw Faith Hill walking towards me. When we walked past each other, I asked her if I could get her autograph for my sister Alissa.
“Sure,” she said.
I get a piece of paper out of my backpack.
“What’s your name?” she asked.
“Ryan Berry.”
“My name is Faith Hill.”
“I know.”
“Do you want to go to my concert with me?”
“Well, I don’t know. I have to ask my mom.”
The day the concert came, I was excited. When it was done, I went back to talk to Faith, and I told her the concert was great.
“Thank you,” she said.
Once I got home, I told my mom all about it. From that day on I’ve listened to her CDs every day.
