Winterwar

A cold missile explodes
near an unwary back:
time for evasive action.
Biding time for a counterattack,
the soldier lies in wait
for the
perfect
moment
to
strike…
There!
A flash of movement
a growl of savage delight
and the missile’s away.
As the artillery hits its mark
(yelps and groans ensue)
the terrain is eyed warily
anticipating tactics and strategies
a psychological chess game of wits.
Laughing quietly with a predator’s glee
the enemy’s weak point is discerned
as the sun glints off
millions of sparkling diamonds.
Victory imminent, one thought now:
he's going down.
If only all battles were fought with
frozen raindrops, as
melting ice-water
drips cold trails down a spine
and mittens
are packed with snow.

Soft Silk and Creamy Milk

Soft Silk and Creamy Milk

There’s no animal that’s more special than Bailey.
He begs and pleads for your milk,
he’d love a blanket made from silk.
He’ll run and run,
he never stops having fun.
Climbing in plastic bags,
he loves when dog tails wag.
Bailey is very proud,
most of the time his head is stuck in the clouds.
He’s very sweet,
but he’ll never admit defeat.
Bailey is orange and tan,
he loves his food that comes from a can,
He hates his crunchy food,
but he’s always in a delightful mood.
Bailey’s not very smart,
but he sure does love tearing homework apart.
He’s very fat,
but over all he’s still the best cat!

The Spirit of Halloween

Shattered mirrors
Bumps and creeps
Screams and chills.
Gouls and ghosts
That is the spirit of Halloween.
Trick or Treat
Some Free candy
Dressing up like your favorite things.
That is the spirit of Halloween
So have some fun
Make it all last
Get scared
Get sick
Simply because
That is the spirit of Halloween!

Is this truly peanut butter jelly time?

Ignore this blog posting. Random musings. Or read it. Perhaps deep meaning can be revealed by my sleep deprived, sugar addled brain.

Monkey spittle.

I guess we shouldn't be getting our hopes up too high then.

I started writing this post, just now. Well, about a minute ago actually. But it was very recently. A recently that is become less recently the more I talk about it being recent. Sorry, got off track there. Anyways.

I started to write this post as a stream of consciousness in its most pure form. Pure meaning that I am typing exactly what my brain decides should be typed, without really thinking about it first. Unless it types something bad. Then I might edit it. I don't need more people to have blackmail about me. Actually, I don't think anyone has anything to blackmail me with. Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah. It isn't really a pure stream, it's a bit murky.

The Majesty of a Camera

I examine my camera
I've only had it
For half a year

Kodak EasyShare M853

The exterior is cherry red
There's a sparkle to it
And the silver letters
That read "Kodak"
In the front upper left
Have already started
To wear back
To the red underneath

"8.2 mega pixels"
Proudly gleams
In the lower
Left-hand corner

There's nothing too special
About the camera itself
It's what it's been used for
That captivates me

I've shot pictures of:

A snow fall
That will never fall
Exactly the same
Ever again

My cousin's
Second birthday
Where he sang himself
Happy Birthday
Before snorting out
The candles

Christmas with
My best friend
With my mom and dad
The first Christmas dinner
I cooked myself

Random adventures
With unmistakenly_alive12
My best friend
Where we stay up late
Worrying about sounds
In her house
Writing poetry
Gaffawing about idiots
Contemplating the meaning of life

Normal stuff

What are you most excited about for Summer Break?

The first time...

The first time
I rode a bicycle,
I got a huge scar.
The first time
I made a friend,
I couldn't stop
chatting.
The first time
I got in trouble
with a teacher,
my face was
down, embarrassed.
The first time
I read a book,
I couldn't stop
reading that book
to my whole family.
The first time
I went to school,
I realized how
much fun it was!
The first time
I went sledding,

Hats

I love
hats
but
hats
are
odd.

They are an arrangement
of material
made into something
that we put
at the
very top of
ourselves.

They are designed by hat designers!
That would be a lovely job.

Shopping can be fun
in department stores
with the
ridiculously
enormous
hats.
Funny pictures with friends
are a given.

Hats
thrive on imagination

A writing game, for those interested.

Here is my idea.

Write a story where the setting is used, at least once. But where that setting can also be changed with another one, without affecting the story.

You can pick two settings, that then can be switched out without affecting anything else. In this one I have chosen my two settings to be a locker room, and the top of a mountain. This is a very, very short example.

Water Skiing

I stepped into the dark water, shivering from the cold. My mom, dad, sister, and cousin were all staring at me as I tingled with excitement while the boat motor started.
“You ready, Noah?” asked my dad.
“Yeah, I guess,” I mumbled.
