It was daylight savings time day today -- "spring forward, fall back". I woke up at six, which was TECHNICALLY five, which makes me very angry inside. Anyway, I decided that it was far too early to get up, no matter how useful and effective this "holiday" is.

The ice sticks out
Bare-faced in front of me
Telling me
That I’m going to fall
For sure

The snow buries the ice
Underneath the lies
Of comfort and easiness
Lingering fear but no certainty
Of whether I’ll fall
Or not

You leave me hanging
With uncertainty
I know it's wrong
But the snow
Just feels too good
Right now

The beach lay still, a silver streak of moonlight is all that quivers, in a life that many question exists. The stars hang low, blinking, beckoning, as if they want to come down to us and share knowledge of an ancient world. The water is bluish, yet green, and can be seen through, all the way to a dark dreary depth.

A big block of ice crashes to shore

Weary from all of its travel

White as a zebra without its black stripes

And sad as an unwanted puppy

For reasons unknown

Melting tears and weeping in silence
