role model ...

People ask me who is my role model all the time. The answer to that question is that I do not have on. I do not consider anybody my role model. One thing I do, do is look up to people. But the thing is I look up to many people. The only people I try not to look up to I celebrity’s.

The Tennis Match and My Mentor

Emma likes to consider herself a pro-tennis player. She always told her mentor, Ms. Besaw, that she would never give up. Tomorrow was the big game! The next day at the match, the score was tied. Emma missed the last ball! “Oops,” she said as tears started to roll down her face.

To You

My
Naivete:

Endearing?
Amusing?

Or,
Embarrassing?

I don't mean to be
So

Young,

I don't think the way I
Appear;
The way I
Act.

Do you
Try to move
Away?
To shrink back from my
Puppy-dog
Trailing?

If you're trying to
I can't
Tell.

I don't mean to
Follow you
Just a tiny bit
Too close.
I don't mean to
Smile so
Widely
In the halls;
Sound so
Young

Role model

Role model:

As I sit here and watch people walk by I try and
figure out what is going on in their heads.
Are they thinking what I'm thinking?
Is there a possibility they are thinking of
something/someone other than themselves?
How long will it take them to realize the world
goes beyond what they think and what they see?
The saying isn't always true, seeing isn't always believing,

Sculpture

The first child is sitting on a bench,
crying for a pause her life.
Looking up at the sky,
tears fall down from his big blueberry eyes.
Everyone who looks at him,
think he is a model
for the creation of a new masterpiece.
“You can be better,
you can be stronger,
but don’t be happy”
He has tried to escape everyday from his destiny
with no answer to his questions.

I want to be a role model
I want to have a little sister so she can look up to me
I want her to do everything with me
I want to teach her how to have fun

I want to be a role model
Who helps her when she is in trouble
Who makes her feel better when something bad happens

Fake

She is always there
My sister and my best friend
She's my role model

Could you do it?

Could you do it?

By Halley Petersen
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

She looks up to you
So small and innocent
You, a hero in her eyes
Looks to you for the right decisions
For help
For aid
For anything.

You try to help
To be a role model
A precarious position
To always do what is right
Rather than what you want
In order to demonstrate to her

Role Model

Role model

A figure in your life
Showing great respect
Tis one who you look up to
You see
You learn
You grow
To admire one is one thing
To be admired is the next
For gaze around and take note
At the people who surround you
For one of them could quite be
Looking up at you
Remember how it felt to you
As you watched your role model
And show your onlooker you can be

The Little Dancer

My toes reached into the front of my slippers. My curly red hair was tied back into a loose bun; a few stray strands fell around my eyes. I constantly pushed them back behind my ears as I waited for the class before me to be over. My best friend and I always took classes together since we were very little. We grew up between these four walls.

Role Model

My father is my role model.
He is the kind of guy you love but respect at the same time, but also sometimes fear.
He is loving and caring.
He is the kind of person that treats his wife like gold.
He is the person you can confide in.
He is the person that you can tell all of your troubles to.
He is the person that never argues with anybody.
He is the person I look up to.

Someone

Someone

Someone to admire,
Someone who walks with my respect,
Someone who may not be here now,
Someone, always trying to show people how.

Someone who believes,
In who he is and what he’s striving for.
Someone who speaks about what he sees,
But someone who’s on another shore.

Someone who’s footsteps,
Someday I will try to follow,

My Role Model

There are plenty of good role models in the world, but one of the ones that I personally admire is my freestyle skiing coach. I feel this way because, not only does he have a vast knowledge about all aspects of the sport, he is also morally and intellectually rich. My coach always looks for the best qualities in people and continually points them out. He is upbeat and energetic.

Ben

I look up to Ben
He gives advice again and again
Ben is a great role model
He doesn’t approve of any twaddle
Ben always knows what to do and shares great tales
Making us laugh, he never fails!
Ben is a great person
He stops situations before they worsen
Always energetic always happy
When he asks for shoveling to get done we do it very snappy
He’s a great guy in every aspect

Role Model

A role model is someone people look up to
A person who sets good examples
A person who is true
And is never blue

Kids always say that they want to be like a certain person
A hero they want to look up to
Someone, anyone
They can trust

Role models are great
Role models are fine
When it comes to looking up to someone

I Lost...

I Lost . . .

By Eloise Higgins
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

I betrayed you once,
My love,
My dear.

I betrayed you twice,
My dear,
My love.

I betrayed you thrice,
My love,
And I lost that Life,
Life of hope and simple joys.

You always guided me,
Like the North Star,
You still guide me,
My dear,
My love.

You shaped how I lived,
Kept me safe,
Kept me alive,
Kept me away from the drugs
And the alcohol.

You saved me,
And I betrayed thee.
I betrayed you once, twice, thrice,
My dear, my love,
I betrayed you and lost our Life;
But what hurt the most is that I lost
You.

Role Model

Super heroes
Baseball players
Peace makers
We all have our own role models
They may be nice
Or smart
Or strong
They all have a special place in our heart
No matter where you go
Who you see
what you watch, or do
They will always be your choice
They may be your best friend
Or the coolest celebrity
But they will always be your,
Role model.

Someone you look up to
Someone who will always be there
A person who cares about you
And help you with whatever, anywhere
A true friend to the heart
Even if they don’t know it
A person who cheers you on
And helps you when you show it
A true role model will always be there
No one can replace them

Don't frown at me,
Don't sweep me aside,
Tired of my clinging,
Of my clutching hands.

Don't toss me to the ocean
Of hungering fish,
Don't fling me back
To be devoured.

Don't laugh at me,
Following in your footsteps,
Echoing your moves,
Mirroring your dance.

You somehow got it right,
You got the formula

Role Models

A role model
Is someone
Who holds a special place
In one’s life
And heart
A friend who
Is always there
By your side
Through times
When you feel like giving up
And times
When you’re bursting with happiness
Who always listens
To hopes, dreams, wishes
And frustrations, complaints, thoughts
Offering advice and support
Without criticizing
Who shares about their life

R.O.L.E. M.O.D.E.L.

By Eli Millman
Fairfield Center School, Grade 8

Re-live someone’s life
Or rock your own world!
Look to find yourself
‘Empty’ should be the shoes you choose to walk in.

Make your own decisions,
Own your own dreams,
Dance to the beat of your drums,
Everyone has something special within,
Love yourself for who you are going to be,

My Mom

When I get home from
School she make my
Favorite supper,
Mac-n-cheese,
At the counter top
She pours the
Soft milk
Into the bowl
She cuts the
Ragged cheese
With a sharp knife
She shakes the
Pepper, salt,
And garlic
Into the milk
Like new snow
On a lake.
My mom’s mac-n-cheese
Is the cheesiest in the world!

My Dad

On the Four Wheeler

By Jarett Preston Legg
Ferrisburgh Central School, Grade 3

On the four wheeler
My dad rides, he
Does donuts and
Speeds as if he
Was on a race
Track, the
Wind blows in
His hair like
Waves in the
Ocean, his
Cheeks are red
Like a red stripe
On the U.S flag
He rides until,
My mom calls
Us in for
Dinner, but after
We go back
Outside and start

My Dad

In the house
on the ladder
He paints with
Snow white mud
He is running
The trowel
Gently
On the wall
Making the wall
White as a polar bear
His face as
Red as
A chameleon
His hand
Looks like
A dizzy
Bunny going
Up and down
He is humming
while he works.

Grandma

In the kitchen
my grandma is
making her
delicious cookies
so silky topped
off with a chocolate
kiss.
She sneaks a
cookie, but we walk
in and say, “Grandma!
No eating until after
supper!”
So at supper, Grandma
is eating so fast
so she can get a
cookie first...
and she does!
My grandma
