Dirt Road

By: Chelsey Hamlet and Camelia J. Drivin' down that dirt road,
Listning to the radio,
singin' along to my favorite song,
thinking about all I did wrong,
should've never done that,
should've juct held back,
should of known better,
and i know i did,

I was driving down that dirt road,
listning to the radio singing along,
to my favorite song,

Driving down that dirt,
listning to the radio.

I know I've done some things wrong in my life,
but I wont to turn arround and make it right,
I know who I am,and I know where I stand,
That's how it is,we're just kids.

Driving down that dirt road listing to the radio.

You yourself and your tears

A windy road that leads to know where
No one knows exactly where it goes, a road that has no steps, no signs
Only dead ends is where you will lie
No help, no friend ,no one there by your side
You have to figure it out alone of you may die
There are no colors, there are no shapes
It’s all black and white
You don’t know what you may face
As your cry alone under the dark sky.
Though it’s not night
Its clear broad day
But the sun is gone, it’s packed away
When you cry your tears make rain
The sound of the rain helps your pain
You know you have to get up and go on
The storm starts to come but you are strong
You push and pull your self through the night
And soon ahead you see a light
You have won you have concord your fears
The only thing that helped you
Was you, yourself, and your tears

How Much?

How much could you take? I’ll do it. How much can you fake? I’ll prove it. How much can you take? How much will you take?
How much do you want? I’ll buy it. How much do you need? I’ll find it. How much do you want? How much can you take?
How much do you have? I’ll take ‘um. How much can you make? I’ll take it. How much do you have? How much can you take?
How much can you do? I’ll watch it. How much can you risk? I’ll save you. How much can you do? How much can you take?
How much can you take? I’ll do it. How much can you fake? I’ll prove it. How much could you take? How much will you take?
How long will you wait? I’ll hurry. How much can you love? I’ll love you. How much can you see? I’ll see you. How much can you take?
How much can you take?

Change the World

If I had a cat I'd name her Sheba
And her nickname would be Queen.
If my life was a movie
There's be music in every scene.
If I could see the night sky
I'd salute every falling star.
And if I could change the world
No things here would stay the way they are

It may seem
No one listens to you
But there's a dream
Everyone's entitled to--

And that's to change the world
Just a bit of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world.

Yes, to change the world
Just a bit of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world.

Not everyone says what they mean
Or what they mean isn't true.
But from how your life has been
Maybe it's true to you.
And maybe this means nothing,
Nothing to you today.
But maybe when you walk away
You'll remember what i have to say--

It may seem
No one listens to you
But there's a dream
Everyone's entitled to--

To change the world
Just a bit of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world

To change the world
Just a bit of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world
To change the world
Just your corner of the world...

I Wanna Soar

I Wanna Soar

By Elizabeth Armstrong
Browns River Middle School, Grade 8

I wanna soar, see the sights of this world
I wanna fly, into the light blue sky
I wanna love all there is to love
I wanna appreciate those things that took some time

I know there’s lots more out there
Farther than I’ve been
Things of great beauty
No one's ever seen
Sittin’ there just waitin’
For some unsuspecting eye
To notice it as they walk by

I wanna soar, see the sights of this world
I wanna fly, into the light blue sky
I wanna love all there is to love
I wanna appreciate those things that took some time

They say there's a one and only
For everyone aroun’
Well I’m still lookin’
Through every little town
Searchin’ for my promised love
The one who will hold me dear
But until then I'll be travelin’
All around here

I wanna soar, see the sights of this world
I wanna fly, into the light blue sky
I wanna love all there is to love
I wanna appreciate those things that took some time

There's lots of artists
On the street
They put in so much time
And barely have a thing to eat
I’ll be the one to stop and look
Maybe spend a bit of coin
As long as they have something
To put on the grill and cook

Dark Eyes

Dark Eyes

Tyler Proulx

Ferrisburgh Central School grade 5

If I die before I wake

I won’t have a soul to take.

Dark eyes haunt my dreams,

they flood all that I think about.

I get headachs and migranes,

and all those other types of pains.

Now, get out of my head.

I’m sick of you!

I’m gettin' over

Alone

On a plane set for home
A man of 23
Awaits unknowingly
of his family over-seas.

Returning from war
Dressed sharp in uniform,
He fidgets with anxiety
With a tear on his cheek
And a picture in his hand

He's alone
No where to go
Crying in an empty lot
Sitting on the steps
Drenched from a rain
He stands alone

The people overwhelming
Greetings from families and friends

Lyrics

Perhaps they’re the words we’re too nervous to say
The words we should have, would have, and could have said.
Perhaps they’re the thoughts to sacred to say
The thoughts we’re dying to let out but our heart holds away
Perhaps they’re the whispers of a once had been
The wisps of memories and places we can no longer be.

Lyrics Last Forever

Lyrics Last Forever

By Chloe Dickinson
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

Completing a melody,
Developing the harmony
The essence of a tune,
Brings meaning to the room.

The core of winded silence,
Remembered from a distance
Forever live the lyrics,
A music maker’s physics.

Staying where song has ceased,
Bringing comfort, even peace
Lasting lifetimes now and then,
The ringing words will never end.

Feel the Music

Feel the Music

By Carly Harris
Woodstock Union High School, Grade 10

Ba da dadadada
It’s the sounds that make me move
Make me wanna stop, and dance
Get on dat dance floor and boogie woogie
Sun down right up until sun up.

(chorus)
The music . . .
Oh oh the music that moves through the air
Right to the beat of a 1, 2, 3, 4.
Realize that you are free to be . . .

Travels through the speakers
Right into the air for all those boys and little girls to hear.
Makes then wanna shake
And move when the music hits their ear.

They be feelin’ the music hit them
And liberate them to the ground when the music
Makes them boogie woogie oogie to the skip of the
Tune.

The music . . .
Oh oh the music that moves through the air
Right to the beat of a 1, 2, 3, 4.
Realize that you are free to be . . .

Bittersweet Eyes

November wind two years ago
meant nothing like it does now.

A sad song, a lonely moment
taken out of the crowd.

Move me forward into the light.
I still can't see it.

It's left alone, it's fallen down,
and I'm waiting to free it.

Chorus
I remember the first time I saw you
You took me by surprise
The subtle smile, those lost in space eyes

Keep on Tellin' Me

Verse 1:
In my search
for a better day
why mush I look this way
I try to break through
But the world keeps on tellin’ me
I must fit into it’s puzzle

Chorus:
Well the world keeps on tellin’ me
To feel this way
But I know I
I forget sometimes
To be my own
So I work harder everyday
(mmhmm)

Verse 2:
Who can ask?
What’s to say: What the world’s puzzle is anyway?
