Singing

And Still

We sing
RENT
Everywhere
All the
Time

We're cool
We switch
Parts

And laugh
When Maureen
Moos
When Angel
Sings

Cry when
She dies
When Roger
Sings about
Glory

We love
La Vie Boheme

We trip
Over the
Lyrics
Stumble
Over pronunciations

And still
We sing

Which of the following singers/ singing groups is your favorite?

Star Spangled Banner screw - up

"Oh say, can you see
by the dawn's earl..."
(oh, my gosh! the mic isn't working!)
"Oh say, can you see
by..."
(It shut off again!)
"Oh say, can you see
By the..."
(they're gonna make me sing in front
of the whole
Baseball team now!)
-
Shakily walking out
Scared to death of screwing up
I stop and look
Everyone is standing there on the foul lines
looking at ME!
-
(loudly)
-
"Oh say, can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
thru the parilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched"
-
(I think someone is laughing...)
-
"were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
that our flag was still there."
-
(darn I hope my voice doesn't start cracking)
-
"Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave?"
-
(Hey! They're claping! They heard me! Yeay!)
-
--walking off the feild--
-
(hope the mic works next time)

The Stage

I creep out onto the startlingly bright stage
As my eyes take time to adjust
To the blinding light
It reminds me of heaven
As if I’ve found it on earth
Music plays distantly in the background
A familiar tune
My body shakes uncontrollably
And as my heart rattles around in my chest
I feel it tapping a rhythm
That sounds vaguely familiar
But I can’t place it

I Hear My Bedroom Singing

I hear my bedroom singing

As it dances and sings, the bathroom
plays the trumpet.
I also hear the kitchen playing violin
as the dining room plays percussion.
You better watch out, the music
tempts you into dancing.
You can't hear it, you say? If you
listen close enough you will.
When you do, you will be shocked.

Music

Music is the thing that carries me away
like a boat on the sea
a voice
coming from deep inside
is it mine?
Yes, it must
for there is no one else
i am alone
on the stage
just me and music
Eyes
staring at me
waiting
for that first note
the deciding note
will it be a hit
or will it flop
face first
I want to show
my inner soul
to all who hear
me
sing
so i open my mouth

Be My Valentine? (no way!)

Many people in my school feel that it was nice to miss a day of school because of the "Valentine's Day Blizzard." Though, this blizzard had put off one of my school's ever famous tradion of Valentines Day to at least Friday:The Singing Valentines from the A Capella Group.
