Winter at the Ocean

When it comes to winter at the ocean
the days are dark
and gloomy
and the wind howls
calling for the winter holiday to start.
In the night the waves
CRASH!
like lightening cracking the sky open
and clouds blowing through the sky.
It's like the clouds are touching the ground.

I am walking in the grass.
I see something,
something smooth,
black,
shiny,
wet.
It soothes my skin as I touch it.
It feels like a furry blanket
wrapping aroung my arm,
like a snake squeezing my body.
It is dark but shiny
like a pearl in a dark cave.
The stone is alone now.

Snowflake in the sky
how you
glitter
how you
fly,
through the
gray dawn sky
shining like a
silk cloth
spread
across
the sky,
landing on the ground
where other snowflakes
lie,
white as
crystals,
still ice cold,
melting in the
sun.
Are they all the same?
No
because
no one is the same,
