Fragile Hearts

Why are hearts made of so fragile materials?
So fragile,
Like the hand blown glass.
It takes so long to put them back together
when they break.
And even when they are put back together,
You can see all of the cracks,
And chips,
Where the one you loved smashed it into a million pieces.
What’s the point of fixing them,
If they just look worse when you do?

The Lonely Hearts

The lonely hearts
Fall down the stairways,
And knock away all in their path.
The lonely hearts
Are filled with rage,
And have more than enough wrath.

The lonely hearts
Have no friends
And no one to speak to.
The lonely hearts
Want someone though,
To scare away the blue.

The lonely hearts
Enjoy the dark,
And their favorite time is night.
The lonely hearts
Need someone
