Winterview

By Bridget Iverson
Mount Mansfield Union High School, Grade 9

Cold glistens soft azure high
A gleaming blue that sucks the eye.
Land sucks his frozen breath in

Closer slumbering hills lie
Trees shoulder loads of snow nearby.
Prints betray where I have been
Through dried beige stalks and their brown kin.

Branches bending, strong and spry
Link starry snow and broad blue sky.
