14. Procrastination. If you had more time, you’d be able to put it off longer. What do you put off to the last moment? Why? Tell a story about how you just barely got something done in time – or didn’t.
Alternate: Splat! Use that word in a story or a poem.

Vermont

What do I love about Vermont? Well, that’s easy… I love many things here, but there are two that are my favorite. I love our beautiful four seasons we get to experience, with our different four seasons, you go from snow, to mud, to green grass and to leaves that cover the ground. Each season has its own good qualities and bad. Also, I love the small community here in Fairfield where you know practically everyone you see. Every person you pass, they seem as if they are a relative because they know you so well. They normally ask “How’d your game go last night?” or “When is your next game so I can cheer you on?”

BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!

MUD

Spring is the season for mud
Slipping and falling; covered in crud

Mothers telling you to be more careful
Or you’ll be doing laundry by the armful

Teachers yelling at you, annoyed
Yet there is mud everywhere- it’s hard to avoid

You can’t get any mud on you
Or you’ll be in the office faster than you can say, “I didn’t mean to!”

Ruffles always get in the way

I.R.A.Q.

In the line of fire
Running into a battle that may decide your life
Always having to watch your back
Quitting crosses your mind, but you never will

The Mysterious Hole

The Mysterious Hole

By Caitlyn Abbott
Fairfield Center School, Grade 7

Have you ever had to solve a mystery? If you have, then you know that the evidence and clues are not easy to find. One day we came home and found a hole in our front yard. It was too big to be a mole. Without any clues or evidence, we decided to fill it back in. The next morning, it was there again.
