How Vermonters Earn Their Star
Submitted by sttari on November 19, 2008 - 19:54.There are exactly fifty white, five-pointed stars on the American flag. Together they represent freedom and unity. Individually though, each star represents one of the fifty states. Vermont is one of them. 9,250 square miles of rolling hills, steep mountains, picturesque plains and eye-catching colors make up the beautiful landscape of Vermont. But a more important number is the 623,908 people that make up the population of Vermont. These people earn their star every day. They are Vermonters.
Losing It
Submitted by SRPiNk33 on January 31, 2008 - 08:51.I used to be such a strong person.
But a lot has changed, a lot has happened.
And I've had to deal with so much more
Than any person should have to go through.
And you know something?
I finally broke.
In the midst of this self-inflicted pain,
Everything around me crashed,
And I fell right with it.
So I'm not that strong anymore,
I don't know if I can handle this.
I'm losing my hold

Inside
Submitted by apples on January 12, 2008 - 17:49.On the outside
I appear to be strong
But on the inside
I am vaunerable
I have no protection
My emotions are easy
To toy with
My exterior may appear
Immune to the insults
But I'm crying on the inside
My strength is superficial
I'm an emotional wreak
There's nothing I can do
There's no one I can turn to
All I can do is
Continue to decieve
And hope that one day
