Slipping through
Submitted by Dreamsprite on July 13, 2008 - 00:47.The mirror lay across the rusted railroad tracks, its border gleamed dull silver in the increasing sunlight. Engraved into the border was a pattern of minuscule budding roses and a crescent moon lay at the top, separating both sides of the mirror.
Pulsing with the sunlight, reflections slipped throughout the leaves of the nearby trees. Leaping from one shaded area to another, the reflections abruptly vanished as a humming began.
Legs clad with stiletto heels and lime green fishnet tights appeared. The person scuttled forward and stood up quickly after. A rather short adolescent emerged, ruffling her short auburn hair to rid it of debris. Yawns escaped her mouth, her lips dry with the lack of water.
"Ahhhhh~ It's so warm!" She exclaimed to herself. The gravel crunched underneath her feet as she approached the mirror. Her face expressed a look of content and almost...recognition.

Inside
Submitted by apples on January 12, 2008 - 18:49.On the outside
I appear to be strong
But on the inside
I am vaunerable
I have no protection
My emotions are easy
To toy with
My exterior may appear
Immune to the insults
But I'm crying on the inside
My strength is superficial
I'm an emotional wreak
There's nothing I can do
There's no one I can turn to
All I can do is
Continue to decieve
And hope that one day
